Murderous Attack On BJP Leader Loknath Rout In Balasore
On Tuesday, two motorcycle-riding youths allegedly attacked Loknath Rout of the BJP with a billhook while he was out for his regular morning walk, about 10 metres from Soro police station in Odisha's Balasore district.

Balasore: On Tuesday, two motorcycle-riding youths allegedly attacked Loknath Rout of the BJP with a billhook while he was out for his regular morning walk, about 10 metres from Soro police station in Odisha's Balasore district.
Rout was critically injured in the attack and was taken to the Soro Community Health Centre. As his condition worsened, he was transferred to the district headquarters hospital in Balasore. He is the BJP vice president of the Soro town unit and a former Soro Municipality councillor.
Though the cause of the attack has not been determined, it is believed to be the result of political rivalry. Rout's wife is a Soro Municipal Councillor.
Police have launched an investigation and are working to identify and apprehend the attackers.
