Malkangiri: Three days after the district killed three Maoists, a violent exchange of fire with police forces was launched on Friday.

According to reports, the security forces started a fighting operation following an intelligence information that the Maoists had set up camps under Mathili police boundaries at a hill of Tulasi Forest Range.

The Maoists opened fire on them as security troops approached the camp. The security forces also began fire in reprisal. Until the report was submitted, the fire exchange continued. It is waiting for details.

The District Volunteer Force (DVF) and Tulasi Forest Operations Group (SOG) met on 12 October three maoist executives. They have on their heads a Rs 10 lakh monetary reward. A widespread stockpile of weaponry was found, including an SLR rifle, an INSAS rifle, six magazines, 59 live bullets and IEDs.
