Berhampur: Berhampur Police rescued a woman who was allegedly held captive by a guy on Wednesday. Berhampur Police rescued her from a residence in Godabarisha Nagar's lane no. 4.

Sanjukta Sahoo, the woman's name, posted an SOS message on the social networking site Twitter. Through her tweet, she sought assistance from the Chief Minister's Office (CMO), the Odisha DGP, the Berhampur SP, and even some media outlets.

Berhampur SP responded by tweeting on Thursday evening that Sanjukta had been rescued and that further action had been taken.

Sanjukta had asked for her rapid release from the captivity of a man whose identity is unknown, according to police sources. Aside from the attempt to eliminate her, she accused the man of enslaving and exploiting her.

Following her tweet, cops leapt into action and tracked down her home in order to save her. Sanjukta was eventually sent to a Sakhi centre by the police.

The culprit has been charged in multiple cases, and a manhunt has been begun to apprehend him.
