Puri: Police in Odisha's Puri district apprehended seven wanted criminals and recovered multiple weapons from them.
Rabi Narayan Bhanja, SDPO, Puri Sadar, said at a news conference here on Thursday that the seven culprits were apprehended during the "Feel Puri Safe, Feel Puri Clean" campaign led by SP Kanwar Vishal Singh.
While four criminals were apprehended in the Puri Sadar police station area, three others were apprehended in the Chandanpur police station area. They have all been sent to court.
Police teams also seized a rifle, knife, iron rod, and other weapons from the arrested individuals. Several cases have been filed against them in the two police stations, according to Rao.
These thugs were involved in robbing persons in vehicles on the Puri-Brahmagiri and Jagannath roads in town. Two additional people involved in the crime have escaped, and the SDPO has initiated an investigation to find them.
