Bhubaneswar: Barabati-Cuttack MLA Mohammed Moquim was suspended from the Odisha Congress earlier in July. The suspension has made the tables turn. He expected sympathy from the party, but instead, he received backlash.

On the contrary, the BJD and BJP both oppose his candidacy. Moquim is now perplexed about the impending elections. Voters are also dissatisfied with his actions.

Mohammed Moquim used to pretend to be a bigot in Cuttack politics. He aspired to be PCC president after becoming an MLA for the first time. He was also persuading many senior leaders in the state to support him. On the other hand, attempts were made to have Niranjan Patnaik removed.

He expected to become the PCC president after Niranjan. However, the outcome was the opposite. After Niranjan, the position was given to Sarat Pattanayak by the high command. Moquim did not return to the Congress grounds after this event. When given the opportunity, he did not hesitate to criticize the party leaders.

In order to paint a different picture, he voted for BJP candidate Draupadi Murmu in the presidential election. Nonetheless, rumors circulated that he might join the BJD or BJP. He appeared to be drifting away from the Congress party. Some speculate that he could join the Aam Aadmi Party or the Bharat Bharat Rashtra Samithi. Many members of Congress have claimed that he was insulting the Congress because he had offers from other parties.

But now things have changed. Moquim has already been suspended by Congress. Moquim, on the other hand, isn't even trying, whereas Chiranjib has gone all-out to get his suspension lifted. Chellakumar has been targeted by the PCC in charge. Moquim told the media that he would file a complaint against Chellakumar in front of Rahul and Sonia. On one hand, he's been cornered in politics, and on the other, the old issues are still being litigated in court.

He has been accused of committing fraud for building houses during the Cyclone. Moquim's corruption has now begun to be shunned. BJD leaders are alleging that the company owned by Moquim has buried many dark secrets on the grounds of Cuttack. Moquim was suspended from the party for alleged anti-party activities.

It will be interesting to see how his political course unfolds in the coming days.
