B. K. Hariprasad secret visit to Odisha has created chaos inside the party

Bhubaneswar: Former PCC in-charge B.K. Hariprasad's secret visit to Odisha has created dissatisfaction for Congress and PCC president Niranjan Patnaik. Following Hariprasad's return to Odisha after holding talks with two former PCC presidents and another senior leader at the behest of the High Command, organizational change is seen in the state Congress. In particular, the PCC president has not been informed of Hariprasad's visit to Odisha by the AICC. Hariprasad held a separate meeting with the three leaders of the party till late at night at a one-star hotel in the capital and returned back.

At one point the state Congress was in-charge of BK Hariprasad. He was removed from office before the 2019 general election. After Hariprasad's removal, the Odisha Congress did nothing miraculous; Rather, the team’s performance was downgraded. Now the news is that the party's position in the panchayat elections has declined and the party is failing to field candidates in many places. The top leaders of Congress in the state are disappointed with the performance.

According to reliable sources B.K. Hariprasad secretly came to Bhubaneswar and stayed at a one-star hotel without the knowledge of the PCC President.

The State Congress has been embroiled in controversy over failure to meet PCC president Niranjan Patnaik. Usually when a central leader or AICC executive member arrives in Odisha PCC president takes their  full care.

Hariprasad's meeting with other Congress leaders without meeting Patnaik has been a hot topic in the party. Similarly, a faction of the party believes that Hariprasad may have come to investigate the allegations made to the High Command by the PCC president for not properly fulfilling his responsibilities in conducting panchayat and municipal elections.

BK Hariprasad has been elected as a member of the Karnataka Legislative Council.
