Fake groom caught by villagers in Balangir

Balangir: The villagers of Chaulsukha, in the Balangir region of Odisha, kept a groom at the wedding venue after he arrived without the required baarat (wedding procession).

The locals took action after learning that the groom had lied about his identity and address.

The groom, whose true name is Laxmikant Tiwari, introduced himself as Sanjay Sahu of the Kalahandi district and even showed the bride's family the incorrect address and residence.

Moreover, despite the fact that the wedding was scheduled for Monday, Tiwari arrived to the location hours later and without a baraat. Suspecting his activities, the villagers looked into the man's background and discovered that he had lied about everything in order to be married.

Worse, the jewellery he claimed to have purchased for the bride was likewise a ruse. Villagers apprehended him, and Kantabanji Police were notified. He was apprehended by police when they arrived on the scene.
