Sambalpur: Covid-19 has been detected in five more MBBS students at the Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) in Burla, bringing the total number of cases reported from the medical college to 56.
On Wednesday, 16 of the college's MBBS students tested positive for COVID-19. More than 30 students tested positive on Tuesday, prompting VIMSAR authorities to establish micro-containment and buffer zones in some dormitories and staff quarters.
After the yearly function UTKARASH-2021 on November 13 and 14, the pupils appeared to have COVID-19 symptoms.
The afflicted students have been placed in isolation and are being closely watched by hospital specialists.
