100-Ft National Flag to be hoisted on Republic Day in Sambalpur University

Sambalpur: On the occasion of Republic Day on Wednesday, Sambalpur University has completed the preparations to raise a National Flag of 100 feet in length on its campus.
According to sources, the university administration have built a cement platform in collaboration with a private college in Rourkela, Sundargarh district, to erect a 100-foot permanent pole to hoist the enormous Tricolor.
The cost of hoisting the rare National Flag on Republic Day has been estimated at Rs 9.5 lakh, according to reports.
"This is a once-in-a-lifetime success for the University." The preparations for hoisting the Tricolor are nearly complete, and the finishing touches will be done by sunset. Dr Sanjiv Mittal, vice-chancellor of Sambalpur University, was quoted by a local TV outlet as stating, "It will be a time of glory for all of us."
