Bhubaneswar: In Khurda, the Crime Branch STF recovered 1.26 kg brown sugar and detained three narcotics dealers, according to DGP Abhay.
Md Saiyaz alias Aftab of Mastan Road in Cuttack, Sk Kamruddin alias Muna of Chakhandi in Bhadrak, and Sourav Pattanaik of Palla in Khurda have been detained.
They were caught during an operation on a narcotics trafficking organisation near the Khurda bus station. Brown sugar and other incriminating materials were discovered in their possession during the search. According to an official release, the accused suspects were unable to present any lawful authorisation in favour of their possession.
The trio will be sent to District and Sessions Judge Kjurda's court.
According to the announcement, a case has been filed under Sections 21(c)/29 of the NDPS Act, 1985, and additional investigation is underway.
Since its inception in 2020, the STF has seized more than 36 kilogrammes of brown sugar/heroin and 74 quintals 38 kilogrammes ( 7438 ) of ganja/marijuana, as well as apprehending more than 100 drug dealers/peddlers.
