Bhubaneswar: The election timetable for the Padampur Assembly constituency in Odisha's Bargarh district was released on Saturday by the Election Commission of India.
The byelection for the Padampur Assembly seat will take place on December 5 in accordance with the Commission's plan.
On November 10, an official notice of the by-election will be released, and candidates will have until November 17 to submit their nominations. On November 18, nomination papers will be scrutinised, and on November 21, candidates may withdraw their names from consideration.
After the vote-counting on election day, results will be announced on December 8. Before December 10, the full electoral procedure will be finished.
In the district of Bargarh, the model code of conduct is now in effect.
The death of sitting BJD MLA Bijay Ranjan Singh Bariha forced the byelection.
The Election Commission also disclosed the dates of the by-elections for one Parliamentary seat in Uttar Pradesh and four more Assembly constituencies in Rajasthan, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh.
