Bhubaneswar: Last year's dramatic Mamita Meher murder case in Odisha has taken an intriguing turn. A father and son have joined forces to fight for justice by donning the black coat. Narasingha Mishra, the state Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader, and his son Amarendra are the father-son duo.
In a PIL alleging conspiracy and carelessness in the investigation of the crime, the senior Congress leader, who is also the MLA from Balangir, is fighting in the Orissa High Court to bring justice to the killed school teacher.
In the lower court, his son Amarendra is serving as Special PP.
The HC had asked the petitioner to travel to the lower court after hearing the case in virtual mode. Amarendra will now contest the matter in the Kantabanji ADJ Court, which was supposed to be heard on April 18 but was postponed due to the extreme heat.
"We both have the same goal in mind." The goal of a Special PP is to guarantee that the culprits are punished, which is also my goal," the Congress leader stated.
