Bhawanipatna: On Sunday, during a visit to Junagarh in Kalahandi district, Minister of State for Home Dibya Shankar Mishra, who has been attacked by opposition parties for his suspected links to the principal accused in the Mamita Meher murder case, was met by BJP protests.

According to reports, BJP workers waved black flags and threw eggs at the minister's car while he and BJD's organisational secretary Pranab Das were driving to a party event.

Tensions in the neighbourhood have been high since the incident at College Chhak in the town. There was also a brawl between BJP activists and BJD supporters who were following the minister.

It should be remembered that the BJP and the Congress have demanded that Minister Mishra resign and be arrested for his suspected involvement in the death of schoolteacher Mamita Meher.

Mishra has been accused of having a strong relationship with the case's main suspect, Govind Sahu, who was the president of the Sunshine English Medium School's management committee, where Mamita worked as a teacher.
