Covid-19 claims 57 more lives in Odisha
Bhubaneswar: The death toll from COVID-19 in Odisha increased to 4415 on Thursday, with 57 more patients from 16 districts succumbing in the last 24 hours.
For the past four days, the state has reported over 50 fatalities. On Wednesday, the illness claimed the most lives, with 59 people dying in a single day.
In response to the rising number of deaths, the Health and Family Welfare Department stated on Twitter that the list does not indicate deaths that occurred on any given day. Rather, it provides information on previous deaths for which the death audit procedure was completed and the cause of death was determined to be COVID-19.
Khurda had the most deaths, with six from Bhubaneswar, five from Bargarh, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Puri, and Sundargarh, four each from Dhenkanal, Kalahandi, and Koraput, three from Angul, two from Malkangiri, and one each from Balasore, Cuttack, Deogarh, Mayurbhanj, and Rayagada.
