DHH Medicine Specialist Under Vigilance Scanner For Accepting Bribe

Dhenkanal: The Vigilance sleuths arrested Dr. Umakant Khejuria, a medical specialist at the Dhenkanal district hospital, on Tuesday as he was reportedly accepting a bribe of Rs. 11,000 from a LIC agent to countersign a deceased policyholder's death insurance claim form at his office.
The woman had lately passed away, and his daughter, who was only eight years old, was to be the nominee for the death insurance claim. For countersigning the claim forms, the accused doctor wanted payment in exchange for bribery.
According to a Vigilance employee, all of the bribe money was recovered from Dr. Khejuria.
Cuttack Vigilance has filed a case under Section 7 PC (Amendment)Act 2018 and is doing additional research.
