Former OPCC Chief Jayadev Jena’s Son Sangram Dies Of Covid

Bhubaneswar: Sangram Keshari Jena, the son of former Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Jayadev Jena, died of COVID19 this morning while receiving treatment in a Hyderabad hospital. He was 44 years old at the time.

Jena was transported from Bhubaneswar to Hyderabad for ECMO treatment in May when his condition deteriorated due to COVID-19 problems, according to reports.

He had previously been receiving treatment at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar, where ECMO was not available.

Sangram was the OPCC's general secretary. He was once the president of the Odisha Pradesh Youth Congress.

After Lulu Mohapatra, Sangram Jena was the one who brought the youth together in the state. Although he did not succeed in electoral politics, he was well versed in state politics. He was a worthy child of former PCC president Jaydev Jena. Many youth leaders hoped that he would lead the state Congress in the coming days. His death has left a void in Congress politics. Many senior leaders, including PCC president Niranjan Patnaik and Cuttack district Congress president Manas Chowdhury, have expressed grief.
