Dengue cases increasing, rise in concern in Odisha

Rayagada: Dengue fever is spreading across Rayagada district, according to reports, and the vector-borne disease has claimed the lives of at least two people so far.

The two dengue victims have been identified as Pradeep Hadibamsa and Sudarshan Kantabamsa, according to Kolnara block residents. Both of the deceased were from the village of Goud Lelibadi in the Kolnara Block of the district.

While denying dengue deaths in the block, District administration has debuted from a Rayagad medical team that arrived at Lelibadi in Kolnara Block on Monday. It is informed that team members have created awareness about the need to maintain a clean and hygienic environment in the village. Officials have also collected blood samples from a few villagers suffering from fever and headache.

Seven other people who believe that have been affected by dengue and other viral fevers have gone to hospitals in neighboring Andhra Pradesh, in the absence of adequate medical facilities in the vicinity.
