Berhampur: According to the Annual Ranking of Police Stations-2021, Gangapur police station in Odisha's Ganjam district has been named one of the country's top three.

In a letter to Ganjam Superintendent of Police, the Ministry of Home Affairs stated this.

Dhiresh Das, the Inspector-in-Charge of Gangapur Police Station, has been ordered to remain at Police Headquarters in Lucknow to accept the award from Home Minister Amit Shah.

Das thanked the DGP, DIG Southern Range Berhampur, SP Ganjam, and the DGP, DIG Southern Range Berhampur, for the success of Gangapur PS. "The prize is the outcome of seniors' proactive efforts. "At all times, we've worked under their capable direction," Das added.

According to Dhiresh Das, IIC Gangapur, the selection for the Best Police Station Trophy would "certainly encourage and inspire the PS staff to march forward with new vigour and zeal."

Out of a total of 72 police stations across the country, three were named the finest, including two from Odisha: Gangapur and Sorada (both in Ganjam). The MHA performed a poll to assess the police station's enforcement performance, activities, and efficiency. Around 70 members of the public in the area were interviewed for their thoughts on a variety of topics.

With only 2% of pending cases, the Gangapur Police Station became famous. According to sources, Gangapur PS had a lot of success with the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems (CCTNS), a plan initiative under the Government of India's National e-Governance Plan (NeGP), as well as instances involving gambling, guns, and excise.

The IIC will receive the prize at the DGsP/IGsP meeting in Lucknow in 2021.
