Cuttack: The Football tournament by Jai Tarini Football Club was being held at Gopalpur town in Cuttack district. Cuttack District Congress Committee President Manas Ranjan Choudhury was invited as the chief guest at the finale of the tournament.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Chowdhury said that the development in sports is the development in youth. With the election around the corner, youths are getting into various groups but sports is something that can bring everyone together.
The players and spectators present at the football tournament have no team. They all have one identity - everyone is a sports fan. So sports is uniting everyone. Further development in infrastructure is needed for sports. Young people can move forward with their careers in sports. There is a lot of talent in the village. If they get a chance through such a local tournament, their talent will definitely develop, Choudhury added.
He also said, "With the right platform for talented people in the village, many national and international players can be created in our region. Jai Tarini Football Club is to be commended for its efforts towards the development of sports. Let such efforts continue in the days to come".
The tournament was attended by many dignitaries and many local athletes, senior leaders, and local intellectuals. The winning team was honored with the trophy by Mr Chowdhury.
