Malkangiri: After a battle between security personnel and Leftwing extremists in Sukma near Malkangiri on the Odisha-Chhattisgarh border on Sunday, one Maoist was killed and a large quantity of weaponry and ammunition was confiscated.
The incident occurred in the Timapuram neighbourhood.
The security forces initiated operations against the Maoists after receiving intelligence that they had established up camps in the adjacent forests.
