Ganja worth Rs 20 lakh seized from Pick-up van in Koraput

Koraput: Police in Odisha's Koraput intercepted another illegal cargo being transported in a pick-up van near Nandapur on Tuesday, a day after seizing Rs 1 crore worth of ganja.

Nageshwar Gumpharay and Suresh Gumpharay of Champaput village, Padua police limits, have been arrested and are being questioned by police.

The speeding pickup van hauling the contraband from Padua was halted near Thuba village, according to police sources, and the contraband was found heaped in 20 sacks. According to reports, the shipment was on its way to Andhra Pradesh.

The recovered contraband, which weighed more than 2 quintal, is expected to be worth roughly Rs 20 lakh on the foreign market, according to the sources.
