IMD Issues Yellow Warning for 13 districts

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rainfall warning for 13 districts in Odisha due to the emergence of a low-pressure region over the Bay of Bengal on Saturday.

“A low-pressure area formed over the same area off the North Andhra Pradesh and South Odisha coasts around 5 a.m. under the influence of a cyclonic circulation over the north-west Bay of Bengal off the West Bengal coast,” the IMD stated in its morning bulletin.

Because the low pressure system is expected to move north-west, heavy rain is expected in most portions of south Odisha and some sections of coastal Odisha for the next three days, according to the forecast.

IMD has issued a yellow alert for the following districts due to the heavy rain.
