IMD issues severe rain in most districts

Bhubaneswar: On Tuesday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a yellow warning for severe to very heavy rain in 22 Odisha districts.

According to the IMD, the low pressure area was located across coastal Odisha and the northwestern Bay of Bengal. During the following 48 hours, the accompanying cyclonic circulation is expected to move west-northwest.

High rain with very heavy rainfall will fall at one or two locations in Odiaha's south coastal and adjoining regions for two days until August 18.

Furthermore, through August 22, there will be light to moderate rain or thundershowers in many parts of the interior districts and a few parts of the coastal districts.

Yellow warnings have been issued for the following districts due to the heavy rain.

Over the districts of Ganjam, Nayagarh, Khurda, Cuttack, Kandhamal, Malkangiri, Koraput, Jagatsinghpur, Mayurbhanj, and Kendrapada, heavy to very heavy rainfall has fallen in one or two spots.

Puri, Boudh, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Nayagarh, Gajapati, Balasore, Nuapada, Nabarangpur, Angul, and Kalahandi have received heavy rains in one or two areas.
