Jayanti of Odisha wins gold at the National Para Athletics Meet, Pankaj takes bronze

Bhubaneswar: On the second day of the 20th National Para Athletics Championships at the Kalinga Stadium on Tuesday, Odisha's para-athletes did the state proud.

In the women's 100 metres T-47 category, Jayanti Behera won gold. Her time was 12.92 seconds.

Pankaj Bhue, a visually challenged cricketer and para-athlete, had already won the state's first medal.

Pankaj finished third in the men's T-13 100 metres with a time of 12.17 seconds.

Jayanti received a monetary award of Rs 15 lakh from Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Sunday for winning three medals at the recent World Para Athletics Championships in Dubai.

She finished second in the 200 metres and third in the 100 and 400 metres.
