Bhubaneswar: Simultaneous searches are being conducted by the Odisha Vigilance on the properties of a sub-inspector who is accused of accumulating excessive riches.
The possessions of Sub-Inspector Samarendra Samal, in-charge of Mahabirod outpost in Dhenkanal district, are being searched. The searches were carried out as a result of warrants issued by Special Judge Vigilance, Dhenkanal.
Searches are underway at two double-story buildings and a farmhouse in Dhenkanal, among other locations. So far, almost 300 grammes of gold and Rs 1 lakh in cash have been discovered.
