Bhubaneswar: Covid immunisation for children aged 12 to 14 has started in India today. In Odisha, over 15.21 lakh children in the 12-14 age bracket will receive the covid vaccination, with over 15.47 lakh doses available.

According to reports, the Corbevax vaccine by Biological E will be administered intramuscularly to children aged 12 to 14, with two doses spaced 28 days apart. The vaccine will be dependent on the date of birth of the teenagers.

To obtain the first dosage of the vaccination, the youngsters will need to present documents proving their date of birth. They can register to receive the COVID vaccine both online and offline.

Beneficiaries between the ages of 14 and 15 have already been vaccinated as part of the vaccination programme for those aged 15 to 18. The cautionary dosage can now be given to anyone aged 60 or older, with the prioritisation and sequencing of this dose dependent on the completion of nine months, 39 weeks from the second dose's administration date.

The precaution dosage should be vaccinated with the same vaccine that was used for the primary vaccination, according to the guidelines.
