MP Aparajita Sarangi Walks To Tara Tarini Temple, vehicle booked

Bhubaneswar: Aparajita Sarangi, a BJP leader and Bhubaneswar MP, has clashed with the Odisha administration for the second time in as many months over her followers' visit to temples.

She made headlines on April 27 by trekking to the Jagannath Temple in Puri to pay respect to Lord Jagannath and His brother deities, and she did it again on Friday by walking three kilometres to see Goddess Tara Tarini in Ganjam district.

After the district administration refused to allow her carcade to continue any farther, the MP and her supporters began walking to the Tara Tarini temple. She told reporters, "If this is how Maa Tara Tarini wants me to attend the shrine, then so be it."

"I used to visit here while I was the Additional District Magistrate in Berhampur." She expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to visit the temple after such a long time.

"I wanted to come here to seek Maa Tara Tarini's blessings. I'm not making any accusations against anyone. "This appears to be Maa Tara Tarini's request, so I'm walking," she explained.

The official Twitter feed of the Collector and District Magistrate, Ganjam, clarified that the allegations that her vehicle had been denied permission were untrue. "Honorable MP bbsr paid a visit to Taratarini Mandir. We asked two autos, but the Hon MP refused and began walking towards the mandir. This report concerning car permission being rejected is bogus. It tweeted, "You can see three vehicles of Hon MP at hilltop Mandir site," with a photo of three vehicles at the temple.

While in Puri last month, police stopped the MP's convoy at Kathapola and asked her to either walk alone or with a few followers for Lord Jagannath's 'darshan.'

She declined and exited her vehicle, embarking on a 'padyatra' to the shrine. The administration was then compelled to transport her and her supporters to Medical Square in government cars. She and her followers then disembarked from their vehicles and headed to the temple.
