Miscreants loot around 1 lakh, set ablaze ATM in Balasore

Balasore: After stealing roughly Rs 1 lakh from an ATM kiosk in the district late Thursday night, several miscreants set fire to it.
According to police sources, the event occurred at an ATM counter in Rajghat, which is under the jurisdiction of the Basta police department. The crooks are accused of using a gas cutter to break down the cash vending machine and steal roughly Rs 1 lakh in cash. They set fire to the ATM machine before fleeing the scene.
After being notified, Basta police and firefighters arrived on the scene and put out the fire.
Preliminary inquiry found that more than one scoundrel was engaged in the plunder, according to the police, who have filed a report. Their identity, however, has yet to be determined. They went on to say that they don't know why they set fire to the equipment.
