Berhampur: On Monday, three members of a family died and two others became critically ill as a result of suspected food poisoning in a village in the Sheragada area of Odisha's Ganjam district.

The incident occurred in Shriramnagar village, which is within the authority of the district's Sheragada police station. According to accounts, when a woman and her two sons perished, her husband and mother-in-law were unwell. The deceased woman was a teacher, according to reports.

The family had been living in a rented house for a long period, according to preliminary evidence. Last night, the family members ate dinner and then went to bed. However, they became ill within a few hours and complained of nausea and vomiting.

The family was rushed to the hospital, where the mom and her two sons perished while receiving treatment. Her spouse and mother-in-law are receiving medical attention.

While the specific cause of their death has yet to be determined, it is believed to have been caused by food poisoning.
