Nila Madhab Panda, an Odisha filmmaker, honoured at Iffi 2021

Bhubaneswar: On Saturday, the International Film Festival of India (Iffi) 2021 opened in Panaji with a magnificent opening ceremony.

Odisha filmmaker Nila Madhab Panda was honoured on the festival's first day. Panda is a member of the festival's International Competition jury.

Panda's 'Kalira Atita' won the National Award for Best Odia Film recently. Panda, a Padma Shree awardee, began his film career with the critically acclaimed 'I Am Kalam,' which received 34 foreign prizes and a national award.

His following work was equally concerned with environmental and children's issues. Babloo Happy Hai, Kaun Kitney Paani Mein, and Kadvi Hawa are among his other flicks.

The 52nd edition of the Iffi will be held in both physical and virtual formats till November 28. The international section of the festival has 148 films, with 64 Indian debuts.
