Odisha MLA Makes Public Moves, after being covid positive

Bhubaneswar: Suresh Kumar Routray, a top Congress official, was observed visiting public locations on Thursday, a day after he and his wife tested positive for COVID-19. That, too, without the use of a mask.

The Jatani MLA was seen sitting near Jaydev Bhawan here, wearing only a 'gamcha' (traditional towel) and addressing media from a distance.

When asked why he was moving in public, Routray claimed there was no need to be concerned because he had received a Rs 1.22 lakh injection. He said that the virus would not propagate and would eventually disappear.

Routray stated that he had spent his entire life in public, but that individuals are being advised to isolate themselves at home due to the pandemic and restrictions.

"I've heard that the birth anniversary of legendary independence warrior and Odisha's first Chief Minister Harekrushna Mahatab, who was born on November 21, will not be commemorated in the state this year." The politician stated, "I came out to show my objection to this."

"For years, Mahatab Jayanti has been observed in the state. The day will be remembered as long as the Congress party survives. This year, the party has organised a number of events to commemorate the day, including a padayatra from PMG Square," he stated.

Routray and his wife Maani both tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday.
