STF of Odisha Police arrested an inter-state drug peddler

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Police Special Task Force apprehended an inter-state drugs purchaser and on Wednesday recovered more than 1 kg of brown sugar.
In the course of intelligence, a team of STF raided the area of Tangi in Khurda district and detained the drug trader identified in the district of Mursidabad, West Bengal as Safikul Sk alias Khokan of Mirzapur.
Brown sugar totaling 1,04 kg was confiscated from Safikul's possession during the search and additional incriminating substances were seized. He was detained and brought to court because he was unable to present a legal paperwork in support of contraband possession. In this regard, the STF has recorded a case under the NDPS Act of 1985.
The inter-state racket was determined during the preliminary inquiry and drug peddlers were discovered. The STF takes measures towards other racket participants. Further research is in way.
Since 2020, the STF has taken more than 41 kg of brown sugar/heroin and 86 quintals of ganja in a special anti-narcotics sweep and have detained over 100 drug traders and traders as reported.
