Bhubaneswar: During the last 24 hours, Bhuban in the Dhenkanal district received the most rainfall in the state, at 64 mm.

According to a press statement from the India Meteorological Centre's regional centre, practically the entire state experienced rain between 8.30 a.m. on January 13 and 8.30 a.m. on January 14.

Apart from Bhuban, Nuagada (57.8 mm) and R. Udaygiri (53) in Gajapati district, Mathili (43) in Malkangiri, Lamataput (36.4) and Jeypore (29.4) in Koraput, and Parlakhemundi (25 mm) in Gajapati district received the most rainfall.

Rainfall is expected to persist in various parts of the state on Friday, according to the National Weather Service. Moderate rain/thunderstorms with lightning are expected in areas of Angul, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore, Kendrapada, Jatgatsinghpur, Cuttack (including Cuttack city), Khurda (Bhubaneswar), Nayagarh, and Mayurbhanj, according to the forecast.
