The release of the floodwaters in the lower catchments was 4.71 lakh cusecs at Khairmal, 5,54,250 cusecs at Barmul and 6,37,585 cusecs at Mundali, he added.

An aggregate of 12 doors have been opened so far to release the flootwaters. 

As indicated by the state Emergency Operations Center (EOC), the Mahanadi was streaming close to the risk mark at Naraj, Devi at Alipingal, Ib at Sundargarh, Brahmani at Panposh and Jenapur and Subarnarekha at Rajghat.
