Nuapada: On Saturday night in Odisha's Nuapada, vigilant citizens arrested a veterinarian for accepting money.

The Vigilance Department set up a trap after receiving a complaint that Dr. Bibhu Prada Dhal, a veterinarian assistant surgeon at the district's Veterinary Dispensary in Sinapalli, was asking the complainant for Rs 20,000 as a bribe in exchange for releasing the hire charges for a vehicle used for official business for two months.

According to the plan, the complaint went to Dr. Dhal to bribe him. The Vigilance officers caught the veterinarian in the act of accepting it. They took Dr. Dhal's possession of the entire bribe sum and recovered it.

Following the trap, the Vigilance conducted simultaneous searches from DA angles on Dr. Dhal's properties from 2 different places.

A case has been filed in this regard under the 2018 PC Amendment Act by Koraput Vigilance. Dr. Dhal is the subject of more investigations.
