Tehsildar Attacked By Tipsy Youth During Crackdown In Jagatsinghpur
Jagatsinghpur: A tehsildar was allegedly attacked by a youth in an inebriated condition at Japa Chhak under Ersama police limits in the district on Monday. The incident took place when the local tehsildar, Choudhury Pranjananda Dash had visited Japa market place to raid some shops which were opened in violation of lockdown restrictions. The drunken youth came before the vehicle and allegedly attacked it besides hurling abuses at the team. The glass of the vehicle has been broken in the attack, Dash alleged. We were tipped off that some traders were doing business from inside their shops by shutting down their shutters. So, we reached the markets and conducted raids to take action against the lockdown violators. A youth who had heavily drunk came before our vehicle, shouted at us, kicked out and pelted stone at the vehicle. He also abused us with unparliamentarily languages in an inebriated condition. Our vehicle has been damaged partially due to the stone pelting,” tehsildar said.
