Three Arrested For ‘Harassing’ Couple In Koraput

Jeypore: Three people have been arrested for reportedly harassing and looting couples outside the Chikapar Shiva shrine in Odisha's Koraput district's Semiliguda block.
Dhuniya Machalipadia, Sanjaya Kadam, and Ghenu Mach of Chikapar village have been named as those arrested.
According to police sources, the suspects detained a youth and his girlfriend on their way home from the Shiva temple on Friday on a two-wheeler and demanded Rs 5,000. When the couple refused, they physically abused the girl and seized their cell phones, Rs 1,070 in cash, and the two-wheeler away from them.
The victims filed a complaint with the Sunabeda police department. The culprits were apprehended on Saturday, and the stolen cash, mobile phones, and two-wheeler were taken from their custody.
