Bhubaneswar: The abrupt increase in onion prices brings tears to the eyes of Odisha's homes.

On Tuesday, retailers informed the media that onion had been sold in the first week of October at Rs 45-Rs 55 a kilogramme vs Rs 35 one kg.

Torrential rain has destroyed hundreds of tonnes of onion in the city of Nasik, Maharashtra. They claimed.

"This week, Nasik's onion price quintal was rising to Rs 2,400. In turn, the price increased by around Rs 15 a kg," they noted.

The consumers expressed displeasure over the increase in price and said it should be regulated promptly by the State government and the Minister concerned and the hoarders were acting.
