Weekend Shutdown relaxed in Twin cities on Independence Day

Bhubaneswar: The state government said on Saturday that the weekend shutdown in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, and Puri will be lifted till 11 a.m. on August 15 to allow residents to display the National Flag on Independence Day.

The office of the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) stated in a statement that residents of these cities can fly the Tricolor on their property as long as no more than 10 people congregate in one location and all safety protocols such as social distancing, wearing masks, and sanitization are followed.

The National Flag may be unfurled in other parts of the state in the presence of no more than 20 persons.

According to the SRC regulations, state and district level functions for hoisting the National Flag must be organised in accordance with government rules.

Other government offices, on the other hand, may have the ceremony with no more than 10 employees in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, and Puri, and no more than 20 employees in other parts of the state.
