Vigilance raid on the home of the Chief Veterinary Officer

Nuapada: Following the seizure of cash worth Rs 2.77 lakh from his department car, Vigilance sleuths raided the official residence of Chief District Veterinary Officer (CDVO) of Nuapada Trilochan Dhal and his paternal house in Naraj in Cuttack district on Sunday.
The Vigilance sleuths, who were laying in wait near Tarini temple in Nuapada town on Saturday, detained Dhal's vehicle about 4 a.m. and took the cash from his possession after receiving a tip that he would be heading for his native location of Naraj the next morning.
The CDVO was detained and simultaneous raids on his official apartment in Nuapada and family house in Naraj were undertaken after he failed to explain the reason for carrying the cash and its genuine source, according to reports.
