Truck driver loses control, collides with seven other vehicles

Baripada: On Wednesday, a mineral-laden truck collided with 7 vehicles in a series of accidents on Dwarasuni Ghat route in Mayurbhanj district, injuring at least 15 people.
The truck carrying iron ore was travelling from Joda in Keonjhar district to Kharagpur in West Bengal when its driver lost control of the vehicle on a ghat road, according to sources.
While attempting to halt the truck from plunging into the deep valley, it crashed with three cars, two buses, one tempo, and a motorcycle before overturning on the road. The crashes harmed up to 15 people who were travelling in the automobiles.
Personnel from the Bangiriposi police station and the Fire Brigade hurried to the scene after being notified. They rescued the injured and took them to the Bangiriposi health centre with the help of the villagers.
According to sources, the critically injured people were then transferred to Pandit Raghunath Murmu Hospital in Baripada.
