Two villagers critical in mad fox attack in Balasore

Balasore: Two villagers were critically injured after a rogue fox attacked them early Monday morning in Dagarpada village, Balasore district, under the jurisdiction of Khaira police.

Bhagirathi Barik and Gourang Chandra Rout of Dagarpada village have been recognized as the victims. They've been sent to a nearby hospital.

According to sources, Gouranga was bitten by a mad fox on his way to work Monday morning. Later, the same fox bit Bhagirathi, who was traveling through the area. Hearing their cries, locals rushed to the scene and transported them to a nearby hospital.

The tragedy has caused worry and terror among nearby inhabitants.

Meanwhile, the villagers have urged Forest officials to capture the fox and release it in the jungle as soon as possible.
