Woman gives birth to 4 babies at VIMSAR

Sambalpur: At the government-run Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR), Burla, a woman from Sonepur, in the state of Odisha, gave birth to quadruplets on Wednesday.

One of the infants is a boy, while the other three are. According to reports, the mother and the children's conditions are stable.

According to hospital sources, Kuni Suna of Banjipali village in Sonepur district was admitted to the hospital on Monday after complaining of labour pains. According to hospital sources, she gave birth to two baby girls at 2 o'clock, a second girl at 2 o'clock, and a male at 2 o'clock. Due to their underweight, the neonates have been confined in the Special Newborn Care Unit (SNCU).

Even while multiple births (triplets or more in a single pregnancy) are far more common than in the past, quadruplets are still relatively uncommon—one in every 5 crore birth.
