The daily cases of Covid-19 further dipped in Odisha as the State witnessed 4,469 fresh cases on Sunday. With this, the positive tally in the State surged to 8,51,782, the State I&PR Department informed today.
Despite dip in the new cases, the fatalities due to Covid-19 however continue to surge in the State. At least 45 patients undergoing treatment for Covid-19 have succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours taking the death toll to 3,302, a data shared by the Health Department said.A total of 2,546 cases were reported from quarantine centers, while the rest 1,923 were local transmission cases detected on Saturday.
Khordha district with 612 infections in the last 24 hours has the maximum cases among all districts followed by Cuttack (413), Jajpur (370), Balasore (318), Dhenkanal (252), Puri (243), Angul (226) and Mayurbhanj (216).
Other districts which reported cases between 200 and 100 are-Bhadrak (165), Jagatsinghpur (140), Rayagada (137), Nayagarh (128), Nawarangpur (118) and Sundargarh (103).Districts which recorded below 100 cases are Keonjhar (96), Kalahandi (92), Boudh (90), Koraput (87), Bargarh (85), Malkangiri (75), Sambalpur (61), Sonepur (60), Kendrapara (59), Bolangir (56), Ganjam (43), Kandhamal (28), Jharsuguda (27), Gajapati (26), Deogarh (23) and Nuapada (14).The active cases in the State stood at 59, 361 while 7,89,066 patients have been cured or recovered.The State has so far tested a total of 1, 25, 90, 363 samples including 67,122 on Saturday.
