Woman kills two-year-old son, commits suicide in Cuttack

Cuttack: On Sunday night, a woman was discovered hanging inside her home in Sriramnagar, Madhupatna police limits in Odisha's Cuttack. Shilpi Khuntia has been identified as the dead.

Shilpi's husband, according to sources, received a call from the owner of the rented accomodation alerting him that she would not be opening the door on Monday morning. Shivan, her 2-year-old stepson, was also discovered in a pool of blood with a slit throat. The woman is said to have committed suicide after killing Shivan.

Shilpi's Facebook profile, with the display photo "I quit. Because that was the only alternative available. Until..." implies that she was under severe mental duress.

Her family also claimed that her spouse tortured her and was financially reliant on her. "We accepted the boy with all our hearts and never carried any grudges against him. Shilpi's husband just underwent open heart surgery, but we were unable to provide financial assistance, so she joined a private company. "Her spouse, on the other hand, was never supportive of her decision," the deceased's sibling told the reporters.

Shilpi worked as an account administrator at Fastfix Automotive while Santosh was an engineer. She had previously worked as a lecturer at Satyasai Engineering College in Balasore after graduating from Synergy Institute of Engineering and Technology with a degree in civil engineering.

Shilpi's husband, meanwhile, claimed that her family was abusing him. Shilpi, he claimed, used to accuse her mother-in-law of black magic on the small child. "My in-laws were always rude to me. My connection with Shilpi has suffered as a result of them. "My mother phoned my mother-in-law to clear up any confusion, but they did not react," he claimed.

Shilpi married him after his first wife died. "Shilpi was always looking for money. "She started battling with my son a few days after marriage and drove him to move to Cuttack, away from us," her mother-in-law stated.
