Jajpur: A nursing college student's body was discovered hanging in a hostel room in Odisha's Jajpur district.
Nibedita Sahoo of Dhusuri in Bhadrak district has been identified as the deceased. She was a second-year student at Jajpur's nursing college.
According to sources, Nibedita was discovered hanging inside her hostel room on Wednesday and was immediately taken to the Jajpur Road Community Health Centre. (CHC). The doctors, however, declared her dead.
After receiving information, a team of Jajpur Road police officers rushed to the scene and launched an investigation into the incident. A scientific team also paid a visit to the location.
An FIR has been filed in connection with the incident, and an investigation is underway, according to police, who also stated that the body has been sent for a postmortem.
After receiving the post-mortem report, the exact cause of death can be determined.
Meanwhile, the deceased's family suspected foul play in her death.
