Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Assembly Budget Session began on a stormy note on Tuesday, with the opposition BJP and Congress boycotting Governor Ganeshi Lal's address, which slammed the government over the Naba Das murder, law and order situation, and other issues.

As soon as the House convened for the first day of the session, Congress MLAs rushed to the podium and raised issues such as Naba Das' murder and the alleged deterioration of law and order.

While the Governor was speaking in the House, Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Narasingha Mishra stood up and slammed the state government, accusing it of a rapid deterioration of law and order.

Congress legislators rushed to the podium, causing a commotion over the Minister's murder and the ongoing investigation. Following that, the party legislators staged a walkout to protest the Governor's speech.

Senior Congress lawmaker Suresh Routray told reporters outside the house that party members were forced to boycott the Governor's address in order to protest the government's handling of the Naba Das murder case and the state's law and order situation.

Similarly, BJP members walked out during the Governor's address.

The saffron party legislators then staged a sit-in outside the House entrance, holding placards.
