It is worth mentioning that PM Modi had already spoken to Manu Bhaker when she won the bronze medal for India at the 2024 Paris Olympics in the women's 10m air pistol category.

Earlier, Bhaker also had a meeting with Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya. After being chosen as the flag bearer for India in the closing ceremony, she is set to return to Paris on Saturday.

Following her outstanding performance, Bhaker expressed her gratitude after receiving a warm welcome at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi on Wednesday. She shared her joy, saying, "I am so happy to get so much love here..." Bhaker also mentioned her happiness about being back home and enjoying Indian food, something she missed during the Paris Olympics.

She will return to Paris on August 10 as the flag bearer of the Indian contingent during the closing ceremony of the games.

"I am so happy to get so much love here... I have brought home 2 medals and a lot of inspiration and motivation to work harder in the future," she said.

Accompanied by her coach, Jaspal Rana, Bhaker also shared a glimpse of her medals with the fans who welcomed her.
