Pickup van hits truck on NH 5A; 3 dead, 6 critical
On Saturday, a pick-up van rammed into a truck on NH-53 at Charinangal Chhak in Odisha's Jajpur district, killing three people and critically injuring six others. Two of the victims were women. The deceased, however, have yet to be identified.

Jajpur: On Saturday, a pick-up van rammed into a truck on NH-53 at Charinangal Chhak in Odisha's Jajpur district, killing three people and critically injuring six others. Two of the victims were women. The deceased, however, have yet to be identified.
According to sources, the van carrying dry fish was on its way to Paradip from Chandikhole when it collided with an iron-laden stationary truck from behind at Charinangal, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Balichandrapur police.
As a result, one person sitting on the pickup van's container died on the spot, and eight others were severely injured.
After being notified, fire personnel rescued the injured and rushed them to Barchana CHC. However, all of the injured were taken to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack, where two of them died. The two women who died are said to be dry fish vendors.
