The proposed 8.10-kilometer flyover will create a vital connection between Sambalpur Station and Sambalpur City Station.

In a significant move to improve railway connectivity and reduce congestion in Sambalpur, the Ministry of Railways has allocated a budget of Rs 288.61 crore for the construction of a new flyover. This infrastructure project aims to streamline train operations and enhance travel efficiency in the region.

"The proposed 8.10-kilometer flyover will connect Sambalpur Station with Sambalpur City Station, creating an important link. This development will make it easier for trains to move seamlessly in all directions, reducing congestion and improving transit towards Titilagarh, Angul, and Jharsuguda. The project aims to increase the average speed and operational efficiency of trains, benefiting both passengers and freight services significantly."

An official from the Ministry emphasized that the flyover is part of the broader Energy Corridor initiative of Indian railways, which highlights the commitment to sustainable and efficient infrastructure development.
